Shuttle Time Senior – Play Badminton For Life
Shuttle Time Senior is the Badminton World Federation’s programme designed to support active, healthy ageing through badminton. Developed in partnership with Coventry University, the programme provides safe, inclusive and enjoyable badminton experiences for adults aged 60 and above—regardless of prior playing experience.
Shuttle Time Senior is a natural extension of the BWF’s “Badminton for Life” philosophy and the global success of the Shuttle Time programme.
What is Shuttle Time Senior?
Shuttle Time Senior is a structured yet flexible programme that enables organisations, instructors and communities to deliver badminton sessions that:
- Improve balance, coordination and mobility
- Promote mental wellbeing and social connection
- Support lifelong participation in sport
- Align with the WHO Guidelines on Physical Activity and the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing
The programme is built around adapted badminton activities, inclusive delivery principles, and an easy‑to‑follow 8‑session framework.

Shuttle Time Senior can be implemented by:

- Care homes and retirement communities
- Badminton and multi-sport clubs
- Academies
- Rehabilitation centres

Participants do not need previous badminton experience.
