BWF Launches Shuttle Time Senior Manual and Instructor Online Course to Promote Healthy Ageing Through Badminton

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is pleased to announce that the Shuttle Time Senior (STS) Manual and Shuttle Time Senior Instructor Online Course are now available worldwide, marking another important milestone in the development of badminton programmes for older adults.

Developed in partnership with Coventry University, the Shuttle Time Senior Programme aims to support active and healthy ageing through badminton by providing inclusive, engaging and adaptable activities for senior participants of all abilities.

Empowering Instructors to Deliver Senior Badminton Programmes

The newly launched Shuttle Time Senior Instructor Online Course has been designed to prepare individuals to confidently deliver safe, enjoyable and inclusive sessions for older adults.

The course is open to a wide range of participants, including:

  • Existing badminton coaches
  • Teachers and educators
  • Medical practitioners
  • Community leaders
  • Individuals interested in working with senior groups, regardless of badminton experience

The online course complements the Shuttle Time Senior Manual and provides instructors with the knowledge and skills required to deliver effective programmes within their communities.

Importantly, participants do not require previous badminton experience to take part in the programme.

This accreditation recognises organisations that demonstrate a commitment to delivering quality Shuttle Time Senior programmes and supporting healthy ageing initiatives through badminton.
