Winner of the Shuttle Time Photo of the Year 2025

Following the announcement circulated on 02 September 2025 on the BWF Shuttle Time Photo of the Year 2025, we have received numerous applications from Member Associations implementing Shuttle Time globally, in a creative, inclusive and fun ways to children, students, adults and more. Thank you for your support!

After reviewing the applications, we are pleased to announce the winner of the Shuttle Time Photo of the Year 2025: Djibouti. The Member Association’s submissions fulfilled all the winning criteria, resulting in an extremely close and challenging decision.

The Djibouti Badminton Federation used badminton and Shuttle Time to help young offenders at the Gabode Juvenile Correctional Centre discover fundamental sport values and life skills.  This initiative demonstrated how badminton can empower vulnerable youth, supporting their journey toward personal development and social reintegration.

Djibouti was therefore chosen as winner of the second edition of the Shuttle Time Photo of the Year.

The winner will receive their prizes at the BWF AGM 2026 in Horsens, Denmark.

DJIBOUTI BADMINTON FEDERATION

Young offenders at the Gabode Juvenile Correctional Centre had a positive and inclusive learning experience through badminton on 08^th November 2025. Using BWF Shuttle Time lessons and BCA equipment, the activity focused on basic skills, coordination games, and short play sequences to build confidence and teamwork. Youth participants expressed motivation and joy and were engaged throughout the session, benefiting from activity that encouraged discipline, collaboration, and emotional well being. The activity demonstrated how sport can empower vulnerable youth, support personal development, and promote social reintegration. The accompanying photo captures their enthusiasm and the transformative values of accessible sport.
