Shuttle Time Energises School Badminton in Georgia

July 1, 2026

As part of badminton development in Georgia, Shuttle Time badminton sessions were conducted in schools to introduce basic skills and promote physical activity.

The programme started with a Shuttle Time tutor training instructors in the spring of 2025 in Batumi, Adjara.

The programme was continued by trained PE teachers using Shuttle Time techniques. Students responded positively, showing increased interest in badminton. Since then, participation has grown significantly, and several students have joined local clubs.

“The way students participate in sports in our schools has changed as a result of Shuttle Time,” said National Coordinator Tamar Kavtaradze.

Georgian National Badminton Federation reports that Shuttle Time has brought new knowledge and energy to Georgian teachers. The training sessions has given them the opportunity to explore badminton techniques in depth, mastering proper racket grip, game organisation, and movement strategies.

This experience has been especially meaningful not only for teachers, but also for children. Their athletic lives have been enriched with movement and inspiration – thanks to badminton!

Instructors emphasise that badminton is a sport that respects gender equality, and is a place where all kids feel equally at ease and self-assured!
