Shuttle Time Lands in Italian Schools

July 15, 2021

The Italian Badminton Federation (FIBa) has delivered more than 200 Shuttle Time Courses since 2013 with 4,374 Shuttle Time Teachers, 75 Shuttle Time Tutors and five Shuttle Time Trainers certified to-date.

This year, FIBa has put in place a fresh 2021–2024 Shuttle Time project throughout the school year. The aim is to promote Shuttle Time in all areas of the country, targeting primary and secondary school teachers and students.

Therefore, two Shuttle Time Tutor Courses were delivered in June and July to train and build the Shuttle Time Tutor workforce in each province. This includes educating teachers from primary and secondary schools, and also coaches from badminton clubs.

The first Shuttle Time Tutor Course was delivered in Lignano Sabbiadoro (26–27 June) with 27 new Shuttle Time Tutors trained. Another in Milan followed (10–11 July), which saw 12 new Shuttle Time Tutors trained.

The new tutors are enthusiastic because the project will allow them to not only educate local teachers through the delivery of Shuttle Time Teachers Course but also teach students about badminton using Shuttle Time resources. Shuttle Time will be a path that accompanies teachers and children throughout the school year with the objective of being active.

FIBa is looking forward to a large participation throughout Italy, the creation of new badminton clubs and lots of fun!

FIBa Project Timeline

“Shuttle Time is considered an excellent project, a valuable support to teachers and a fantastic resource for introducing and entertaining pupils at school with badminton. The manual, the videos, the tutor’s support throughout the year are unique resources that only Shuttle Time, in this new Italian edition 2021-2024, offers to schools. It’s a unique project that no other sports federation offers to Italian schools.” – Fabio Morino, Shuttle Time National Coordinator of Italy
