Shuttle Time Materials Updates

October 25, 2022

In 2012, BWF launched Shuttle Time to the world – a schools badminton programme supporting the principle that children should lead a healthy and active life in and out of school – with the goal of making badminton one of the world’s most popular and accessible school sports.

Up to today, a total of 153 countries across five Continental Confederations have successfully implemented the programme. (map)

We have trained and certified 65,609 teachers globally – male (57 per cent) and female (43 per cent) – a nine per cent increase from 2021.

In line with BWF’s Vision – “Giving every child a chance to play for life” and in collaboration with international organisations such as the International Paralympic Committee and Special Olympics, BWF continues to work towards ensuring the resources and programmes developed are accessible and inclusive.

In addition to the updated Shuttle Time resources for teachers, we have recently updated the Shuttle Time resources for University course, Youth Leadership Workshop and Implementation Guidelines.

This is to ensure that Shuttle Time activities provide participation opportunities to children and adults of all abilities, including those with physical and intellectual impairments.

The updated materials are now available for free in English on the BWF Shuttle Time website.
